Dear Cheironians!

The annual meeting of Cheiron is coming soon--June 20-23. Now is the time to register, especially if you would like the "single room" option in our new dorm. There are only 3 single rooms left, although there are plenty of "single rooms in a 3-person suite" as well as other options. (Sorry for the dorm jargon!)

There has been a change in the plans for the Friday trip to the Dallas Museum of Art (DMA). I have been informed that docent tours cannot be done that Friday (only learned this recently) but .... that's because it is a special evening at the DMA. The following is from a Museum representative:

"We always feature concerts and performances, films, lectures and talks, tours, special events and family experiences. It's really not to be missed. Of course the art galleries are all open until midnight as well. The DMA collection spans over 5,000 years and covers every continent.

"June 21st is our annual Summer Block Party, when the Crow Collection of Asian Art and Nasher Sculpture Center (usually $10 per person) are also open until midnight. We'll close down the streets in the Arts District for outdoor performances, films, and food trucks. Stay late for a concert by Girl in a Coma.

"A trip to the Arts District alone is a real experience. There's no place in the world that features such award-winning architecture all on one street. Recently opened is the popular Klyde Warren deck park over Woodall Rodger's freeway right next door to the DMA.

Now I haven't yet scheduled when the bus is to return to campus, and I'm thinking that it might be before "Girl in a Coma" performs, but I am open to suggestions. I was thinking of the bus returning at 10:00 or 10:30 to campus. Trains from downtown to campus run a bit later for the more adventurous, and a taxi is always a possibility. So let me know if you have ideas.
