Hello Douglas,

Recently, we've added an integration between Checkvist and Zapier. Zapier is a tool which integrates many different services in a declarative way. For instance, you can connect Checkvist with a service which sends SMS, and you'll get an SMS when a new list item is added. All of this can be done without programming.
Please find the more detailed description of the integration here: https://plus.google.com/+Checkvist/posts/SoiDZevJKdZ

  Hope, this helps,
  KIR

Hello again,

If the solution with Zapier won't work for you - please give some more details on which specific task you'd like to solve.
Technically, it is possible to write a program which would periodically poll for changes in a Checkvist and do some notifications (like ringing a bell) when a new list item is added.

   Regards,
   KIR
