Dear Checker Framework Organization,
My name is Yan Gao, and I am a postgraduate student majoring in Information Technology at the University of Technology Sydney. Recently, I reviewed the “Project for New Contributors” page and became very interested in the task of annotating JDK 25.
I have a question regarding how to proceed: since the current typetools/jdk repository is based on JDK 21, the first step is to migrate or merge the existing annotations to JDK 25 before starting annotation work for JDK 25.
After reading the README in typetools/jdk, I drafted a document titled “JDK 25 Migration Strategy & Feasibility Analysis.” This document is not a complete proposal; it focuses specifically on the migration of existing annotations to JDK 25. I would really appreciate feedback or a review from the organization, but I am unsure about the most appropriate place to share it.
Would it be better to post this in the GitHub issue tracker, or to discuss it here? Personally, I prefer the GitHub issue list since it supports structured discussions and code blocks more conveniently. Before sharing the document, however, I would like to confirm the preferred channel. Once I receive feedback, I will submit the full proposal in the organization’s expected location.
Thank you very much for your time and guidance. I look forward to your reply.
Best regards,
Yan Gao.
