Hello Checkbook API folks,

I’m a consumer of the Checkbook API (and a software engineer with the NYC’s Mayor’s Office for Economic Opportunity) and I’ve noticed that the Checkbook website and API have been intermittently unavailable over the last 24 hours. The error message I receive is a bit unusual – I’m not receiving a status code from your website, just a message that the checkbook website can’t be reached. The network tab in the browser inspector looks like:

I wanted to let you know that this was happening, and ask if there was a place I could subscribe to website health updates.

Thanks!

P.S. Are there any throttling limits I should be aware of as an API user?

There were too many simultaneous API requests which were hitting the site from a NYC IP. Our logs show about 18 requests at once. This was placing higher than normal load on our database and we blocked the requests.

If you could please limit your requests to 5 at once, I can unblock your IP.
