Museum passes available again beginning Monday, December 19
They’re back! Passes are now available for a variety of popular
attractions throughout the region. The process has changed based on
experience from the first year. You will be able to check out passes
good through Feb 28 and good at all of the participating museums.
Participating: Duluth Depot, Great Lakes Aquarium, Forest History
Center, Judy Garland & Children’s Museum, MN Discovery Center, Split
Rock Lighthouse Historic Site, Dorothy Molter Museum, North Shore
Commercial Fishing Museum, Ely-Winton Historical Society, Carlton
County Historical Society, Palkie Grist Mill and Cook County
Historical Society. Some of these are seasonal, so they will not be
open in winter. Due to limited quantities, we must restrict it to 4
passes per family per quarter. In February we will receive passes
that are good March –May.
Winter Reading Program starts
It's time for WINTER READING!! Sign up on day one, pick up your book
log and Curl up with a good Book beginning December 17 and continuing
through February. Sign up, pick up a reading track and an activity
book, and record the number of minutes read. Return the completed
reading track, and pick out a free book!
Family Movie Night Thursday, December 29, 6:00 pm
This month we will present "Kung Fu Panda 2" on the big screen in the
community room! Bring dinner or a snack and join us!
Holiday Hours
The Library will be closed Saturday, December 24 and Monday, December
26. We will be open regular hours during the remainder of the week.
We will be closed Monday, January 2nd
Note: Due to budget cuts for 2012, beginning January 3 we will be
closing at 7 pm Monday through Thursday. Friday and Saturday hours
will remain unchanged.
No Story Times until January
We will not have story times on Mondays the 19th and 26, or on
Saturdays the 24th and 31st.
