Martin Luther King Jr. Day

Monday, January 18, 10:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m.

Bring your family to the Chicago History Museum for a celebration of the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and his messages of peace and justice.

The program begins at 10:30 a.m. with Dr. King, an Educated Man, presented by the Roots Theatre Ensemble. At 12:30 p.m., the Chicago Chamber Choir will perform Precious Lord: A Tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., followed by LaRoyce Hawkins re-enacting “I Have a Dream” at 1:45 p.m. Kids crafts activities will happen throughout the day.

Local comedians-writers Keith Ecker and Alyson Lyon host humorous, true-life tales by Chicago-area comedians, novelists, poets, journalists, bloggers and playwrights. A raffle benefits the Howard Brown Health Center.
