The controller is working very well. I bought a second remote because if something happens to the remote, there is nothing you can do. Haven't had any problems w/ the remote but I had someone working on the irrigation and he left with the remote. Brought it back the next day but it made me realize I needed a back up. The new remote came with a disc w/ the new software for Win 7 and Vista.

UPDATE: The controller is working well. The remote is great for working on and checking the system. When I first programed it I put in 3 start times for each zone and left spaces to easily increase times. Went back and tightened it up and didn't have any problems. KISS! If you have one start time for each zone you probably won't have the problems that I had. I ran all 11 zones for 3 min then ran them again and then ran each zone for 2 min leaving a 1 min space so I could easily increase it to 3.(3 start times was to minimize runoff)It may have been what caused the confusion. Still? If you want a remote and the computer control at this price? I think it is worth it. There are a few glitches. Hopefully Irritrol is working on them and will come up with an update for the software. Also:Irritrol did get back to me at the end of the day.
One other problem. I wanted to run zone 1(lawn)with 3 start times on odd days and only 1 start time on even days during the summer. Can't do it. Put zone 1 in for even days and it automatically put in 3 start times. Doesn't appear to be any way around it.
I am now working on replacing heads with Hunter rotators to control runoff so I may be able to go back to one start time.

Original review: Irritrol claims this is a new product. It appears to have actually come out in '06. There were 2 9 volt batteries that came with it that had 2011 expiration dates. New batteries in the store have expiration dates that are 4 years from now. The software that comes with it doesn't work on a Vista or WIN 7 computer. You have to call Irritrol and they send a link for the "new" version of software. I had problems sending the schedule to the controller. Two of the stations disapeared. I retrieved the schedule from the controller, put the 2 stations back in and resent it. When I checked, the 2 stations were in there but some of the start times had been shifted a minute or 2. I would like to try to send the original program again but I figure I shouldn't go pressing my luck. Also, they claim you can have up to 10 start times for a zone, you click on the zone and then click the "add" button. This doesn't work quite right. The original zone start time shifts and the new start time shows up a couple of hours down the road. I called Irritrol and told them the problems I was experiencing and they said they would look into it. He hung up with out getting my number or my name??? I tried to call back and wasn't getting to talk to anyone. It kept on asking me to leave my name and number and they would get back to me. After a couple of hours I tried to call again. Same thing. I called from a different phone while I was still waiting on the first phone and they answered right away. Coincidence? We got disconnected and I tried to call back on the second phone.....You guessed it..."Please leave you name and number and we will get right back to you" Hopefully, if you are a contractor, they will give a crap. It appears that if you are a homeowner, well hey, you already bought it. Your not going to be buying another one anytime soon. So?
