The market currently has a massive influx of bluetooth speakers to meet all sorts of different needs. I feel like with many of the other products there has been some difficulty providing a music device that met the needs of portability without losing sound quality. I reviewed earlier the Sony SRSBTX300 Portable NFC Bluetooth Wireless Speaker System and found it to have fairly good sound quality but the whole kickstand thing caused me great frustration as I kept knocking it over on accident. I also played around with the Bose Sound Link and I was a little disappointed in how it sounded as the bass was unnecessarily exaggerated.

I was very excited when I received the Polk Audio Camden Square in order to compare. I truly find this speaker to offer the best in portability as well as in sound quality. One of the huge benefits of this system is that you can toss it in your bag without really worrying about it. The Camden Square is tough. It is a rugged system that does not have any apparent weak spots on it. You wouldn't want to drop it off your dresser, but I think it could withstand such a drop.

I would really like it if it had a soft case, but as of right now I don't really know if it actually needs it. If you have an everyday carry system, I think this Polk system would be the best bluetooth speaker to pack. I have added it to my own kit and have really enjoyed being able to play music when I have some down time and my phone available. So much better than trusting in the tiny speakers on my phone. I also added an aux to my pack so that I can plug it into a computer or a radio in order to listen to music with a better sound quality.

I have been listening to the Camden Square exhaustively for the past week, and after charging it completely the first night I received it have not needed to plug it in again. I suspect that I am getting close to the 24 hour battery life that Polk boasts about.

Setting up the Camden Square is easy. I set it up for my laptop as well as my phone. Really simple. Access the bluetooth feature on your phone or your computer, turn on your speaker. Let your digital device recognize the speaker, pair, and you are good to listen to music.

As far as sound quality, I can easily hear layers within much of the music that I play. I think they were right about $300 being too much, but now that Amazon has dropped it down to $240 that this really is a perfect system for someone looking for a portable great sounding speaker.

The only feature that I have not had a chance to play around with yet is the DJ app. I think this says something about the speaker that its primary feature is that it is a party speaker, but the sound it puts out and the ultra portability it offers really is a special product that I plan on carrying around for a long time.
