I was upgrading my mattress, going from a queen to a king, so I needed a new bed to go with it. I was hesitant to purchase such a large item online, but did a lot of research and decided to go with this bed because it was the "look" I was looking for and the company, Skyline, had a good reputation. It was delivered earlier than expected - I was concerned at first because the box was placed in the snow on my driveway with a tear in the cardboard facing down (right on the snow!). However, upon further inspection I saw that it was fine with no water stains. My husband was out of town, so I had to build it myself in order to have the frame ready for the mattress delivery. Directions were pretty simple to follow and I was able to put it together fairly easily (I'm a 52-year-old woman with achy joints, but still managed to carry the pieces up to my room one at a time - I'm pretty handy and have a lot of experience with building these type of things). The bed is very pretty and the color is pretty much as advertised. I've seen the same bed on other sites where it looked more yellow, but it's more of a grayish tan, not yellow. The next day my mattress was delivered and it was perfect - the mattress I purchased was about 15" thick, so I decided to get a low-profile box spring - the box spring fit perfectly with it's top just below the upholstered side rails, so you can't see it, and the mattress was just the right height against the headboard. Very nice!
