I have tried this on both a Nikon D7000 and P7700 and it operates perfectly. I understand that Dawntech has a newer model that sits at the side of the camera. The unit I purchased acquires satellites even in difficult situations and in some situations which I would have thought impossible, such as on the lower floor of a multi-story home. Most important, the coordinates and elevations are as accurate as consumer GPS can provide. The tagged photos work perfectly in Adobe Lightroom so I would be led to assume there is no problem with the data's formatting. I like that the connector is at a right angle and does not stick straight out of the camera's socket. This makes it a little less likely to act like a pry-bar and wreck the socket. I can't see much impact on camera battery life, either. Since it meets all my expectations and works as described in the description, I give it 5 stars.
