Makes overclocking a breeze. Love the EFI BIOS.
I'll complain a bit, but these are minor complaints; I still think the board is AMAZING.
It takes a while to get to the OS boot because it goes through the Marvell BIOS load then the EFI BIOS before it loads OS. Also, I don't see any settings in the BIOS for controlling Function Key or NumLk behavior for keyboards which use those. Also, if you have multiple bootable OS's, don't count on the BIOS to keep your settings for which one to boot. My internal drives are only Windows, so I was able to use BCD to set the right BOOT OS options I wanted, but it would be nice to set a default drive to boot first and have the BIOS remember my setting. (this will likely be fixed in some MB update, but for now, it's a bit of an annoyance, since you have to DEL into the BIOS settings and choose which internal hard drive to boot each time if you don't have your BCD options set right and the drive you want to boot isn't "first" by default. Additionally OC Genie doesn't work, is mis-overclocks my RAM which I had to set manually.
On to the good. I'll keep this short, but it weight a lot more heavily than the complaints. Overclocking is a dream. Right through the EFI BIOS I can adjust voltages, timings, everything. I can then store these settings as profiles and load them any time easily. If I mess something up and it fails to boot 3x in a row, it will automatically revert my changes so I'm not hosed (don't like 3x, this is configurable too), and I'm free to experiment with dropping voltage to lowest possible setting to obtain the clock speeds I want. RAM timings and can be set easily too, and it even recognizes the hyper memory profiles.
Also, XL ATX!!! I can quad SLI GTX-590's on here and keep PCIx16 speeds!!! The extra room also helps keep everything cool.
I have all the USB 2 & 3 ports I could ask for, as well as SATA 3 g/s & 6 g/s, and who doesn't want two NICs. Additionally, the locations of the fan controls are very smart and helpful.
