I bought this unit to use in a church setting to enhance the choir. It has performed that task perfectly and has been completely trouble free. This is a professional quality unit, and therefore is far from the cheapest, but is worth it if you have a demanding task. There are much cheaper units available if your are just looking for a Karaoke mike. One important note: These are available in several different frequency bands. I would recommend going to Sony's web site and selecting the best band for your area. You can plug in your zip code and it will assist you in selecting an interference free band.

As a side benefit, it is easily portable. I added an XLR plug to our Parish Hall amplifier and it can easily be moved there for special occasions when a portable mike is desired.
