I bought this for my son who is involved in 4H shooting sports and needed something to do silhouette shooting. I read reviews and thought it would be a good pistol for this event. The pistol has accuracy, but the poor trigger pull will not let you get the most out of this pistols accuracy. Crossman reports that the pull is adjustable form 1 to 4 pounds. My pistol with the trigger pull adjusted as light as it goes measured 3 1/4 pounds with my trigger guage. The trigger is not smooth and needs work to be a good silhouette pistol. The weight and balance of the gun is really nice. The grips could be better, but acceptable. The pistol is sometimes hard to load. Sometimes the pellet will fall in and other times you are wiggling the bolt to get the pellet to seat, at times the pellet will go sideways in the chamber and needs to be removed with a rod. If you are looking for a pistol which shoots well out of the box without doing work on the trigger this is not the pistol you want. I read reviews where others are reporting that there trigger pull can be adjusted to 1 pound but mine can not. Maybe I just got a lemon when it comes to trigger adjustment. Other reviewers have noticed that the trigger pull is not smooth. I could even forgive that if I could get mine to adjust down to 1 pound. Hope if you choose to buy a Crossman 2300S, that it works as good as Crossman claims it does.
