hi

i have some balance differences with this charger. it´s like the hobbyking quattro charger inside

also the main voltage calibration set to -20 but the voltage doesn´t match with my real voltage.

the charger has atmega32a on it.

now i tried to flash one of the four chargers with some of the hex files but on the flash verify i´m getting always a "mismatch at location 0x00000000" error
i saved the original firmware here: http://www.mediafire.com/download/27pmaz4tqgn7715/hitec_q_org.hex
reflashing my backup works BUT now i have white squares in the display :( and i don´t know how to fix it.

perhaps someone could modify the original firmware to get in the expert calibration menu 1?
or to get the charger working again? :/

thank you very much for your help

regards
patrick

Unfortunately  your flash  was locked,
the hex file contains only a  increasing sequence of bytes,

have you tried the cheali-charger firmware?

hi

yes i tried

cheali-charger-imaxB6-clone-0.32.hex
cheali-charger-imaxB6-original-0.32.hex
cheali-charger-Turnigy-Accucel-6-50W-5A-0.32.hex

and a imax b6 mod file of rcgroups forum

always getting this "mismatch at location 0x00000000" after flashing :/

just try:

type something like this into cmd.exe:
avrdude.exe -patmega32 -cusbasp -Uflash:w:cheali-charger-imaxB6-clone-0.33.hex:a

Today I found an error in firmware for Hobbyking Quattro 4x6S:

calibration and measurement of the voltages cells works corectly and as expected, but current measurement is wrong - there is a change in schematics and voltage divider or gain of the measuring opamp is set differently -> real current is 0.66 of the displayed value on the charger -> temporary I changed the calibration constants accordingly.

I am running on the v1.1...

please calibrate the charge current again,
make a test charge and send me:
1. the displayed current
2. the measured current
IMPORTANT: measure current on the red wire (BAT+ wire)

Real discharging at 300mA

so it's  a problem with discharge current?

Measuring setup

was the balance port connected during the discharge test?

Problem is same in discharging and charging - it is only the matter of scale - and it is easier to do so on lower current and discharge mode with battery charged to approx 90%

was the batteries balance plug connected to the charger during this test?

During calibration charger says to disconned the balance plug. During discharging the plug is connected - charged does not start discharding without this plug

could you repeat your test but this time
connect your amp-meter in series with the RED batteries wire?

Hi,

i checked the schematics and charger topology and now it makes sense to put ampmeter to positive wire and now the charger works as expected ;) The internal resistance of the amp meter caused this deviation

Thanks Pawel for great work!

another problem solved :)
to be honest, it took me awhile to realize what is going on there
to this day I don't fully understand why on some chargers (not all) the balance port is connected to the "-" main lead.

could you do me a favor?
could you add a short note to the "Troubleshooting" section:
https://github.com/stawel/cheali-charger/blob/master/README.md#troubleshooting
about your issue and how to deal with it?

Best Regards
Paweł
