CP2102 USB<->UART dongle, imaxB6 atmega32 version

Some time ago I bought five USB<->UART dongles based on a CP2102 chip,

I tested them and they seemed to work,

but recently they stopped working with my Imax B6 clone charger (atmega32 vesion)

I'm not sure why, maybe I did something in the firmware but I can't figure out what,

fortunately there is a solution, after removing a 1k Ohm resistor (see picture) they

started working - at least with 57600 speed -

the downsite is that the RXD LED is not flashing anymore

maybe this will help someone,

I saw a ~1.8V  for a logic state "0"  on a oscilloscope, 

the Imax B6 has not enough power to drive also the LED

(see picture)

The dongle is cheap CP2102 with leds.

The LED is blinking, but no output.

Is the same resistor hack needed to get it working?

yes there is:

replace a 10kOhm connected between the input and the CPU

with a smaller one (or just connect one parallel to it),

a 1kOhm should be enough.

I mean a 10KOhm resistor inside the charger (charger with a nuvoton M0517 CPU),

it should be somewhere between the temperature input (middle pin) and the  M0517 cpu (pin 45).

I soldered wire before R20 and added 1kohm resistor. Logview gets info from charger now but it doesn't make any sense to logview. 

Charger settings:

extrn T: no

UART: normal

speed: 57600

UART inp: temp

Logview settings:

Device: ChealiCharger_1.0

Baudrate: 57600

COM: same as dongle.

Ok, got it working. Re-installed Logview and copied ChealiCharger_1.0.ini again. And voila :)

I first copied it to wrong place I think.

Path in windows - "C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\LogView\Geraete\OpenFormat"

Picture attached,

you can connect the 1kOhm resistor in parallel to the 10kOhm,

or just replace the 10kOhm one.

 Должно быть вроде такого. Посмотрите в файле INI строку Baudrate такую скорость и ставьте в зарядке. + UART imp: temp UART: normal

Спасибо за наводку по INI, сегодня потестирую и отпишусь. После подпайки резистора, дата заструилась, но как видишь бредовая, я уж начал грешить на порт... но если дело в скорости тогда поборемся

Как вариант теста переходника нужно замкнуть TX и RX и в терминале на любой скорости пробовать чего нибудь набить на клавиатуре. В результате должно отображать нажатые кнопки. Ну а если промах в скорости - то мусор это норм.

Ну коротенько про порт от мобильного телефона, не смог получить от него внятных данных на всех скоростях пробовал, данные идут, но бред, а не набор циферок. Короче психонул и купил у китайцев (http://ru.aliexpress.com/item/U95-PL2303-USB-To-RS232-TTL-Converter-Adapter-Module-For-Arduino-CAR-Detection-GPS/32216290752.html) за 50 рублисов порт USB to TTL, на скорости 57600 пошли внятные наборы циферок и в логвью все заработало. Получаю интересные данные, пониманию процессов заряда-разряда разных аккумов очень способствует. Спасибо за возню с моей проблемой. Похоже мой кабель от телефона, не только порт, но еще и модем, потому и дата не понятная.

For replacement you need 102, for parallel 202. But I think you should try the link without modifications - it might work.

Hi, I got the same problem. The log data is OK, but the data is not interpreted in the logview.

What could be the cause?
