no charging, although calibration works fine

Hello,
I've flashed my redox Beta (B6S+) charger.
All calibration's are working fine: I get proper voltage and current measurements.

However when it comes to charging/discharging no current flows. The voltage is shown properly.

I checked various batteries, various firmware (clone, original), but without success.

Can someone help me find a way to solve this problem?

Cheers

I guess, you are just not familiar with cheali FW controls...
1. select battery (you previously set up) from menu, press confirm (start)
2. select what you want to do with battery, confirm (start)
3. now you can see voltages, you can see configured limits etc., HOLD start to initiate charging/discharging/... once you hear buzzer, process begun.

Oh, yes you are right - now everything works fine.

Great software, thank you all.

Ruszomir, how did you flash the old redox beta, with the usb port?

Very old post... IMHO... With that failure they probably need to reload the old firmware.
No 100% compability...

Don't do that...

Maciej:

USB ports in these chargers are typically connected to the virtual com port chips to read the logging data. I am not aware of any supported charger with serial bootloader. Thus I'd suggest you to open the charger, locate the programming header and use ISP programmer to flash the FW.

Roberto:

There was no FW/HW issue in the end. Please read the whole thread before replying. Your reply just causes confusion.

Hi,
miniUSB format port is not compatible with USB standard! It's UART output, and connecting it straight to computer will fry USB port, as mine did.
Programming is done through pins on PCB, see enclosed pictures. You also need a typical AVR programmer, there's no bootloader.
You can also add a temperature probe LM75, see markings on my enclosure.
Good luck with mods, although it's not for beginners.

Pozdrowienia/Cheers
