HI Anyone

I use the original charger, programmed with the firmware(cheali-charger version 1.99) but did not find the constant voltage charging after constant current charging, Also the voltage is not full,  I select the "CHANGE", So can you kindly tell me whether there is something Problem?(My battery is good)

 Best Regards,
Wallace

Hi, did you calibrate it after flashing? If yes - use temp port to log the charging with logview and let us see the log.

Hi alex

How to operate to see the log file? It was charging after calibration, but when the constant current charging voltage reaches 4.2V , the current (measured by multimeter) immediately dropped fast to zero, at the same time the voltage dropped, then the current rises from zero to the maximum current and then immediately displayed "charging was completed, but in fact the voltage only charging to approximately 4.0 V. I wodner if it is a BUG? Since it is normal before I burn the firmware

Best Regards,
Wallace

Is this happening without multimeter in circuit?

In order to get log you need LogView software (http://www.logview.info/Update/LogView_2.7.6.511.exe), then you need ChealiCharger_6cell_1.0.ini (download from there https://github.com/stawel/cheali-charger/tree/master/utils/LogView). Put it into C:\Users\admin\AppData\Roaming\LogView\Geraete\OpenFormat\ (the path could differ depending on your OS. You'll need to fin Gerarte folder where lots of other ini files are located, then create OpenFormat folder in there and put this ini into it).
Then you need an RS232 to TTL or USB to TTL dongle, and connect it to temp port. This might not be so straight forward! In my case I had to do some soldering as GND pin wasn't connected anywhere and I had to lower the resistor on DATA pin. For more information on this take a look at https://groups.google.com/forum/#!msg/cheali-charger/LKy6qITaVDg/Vzl6XJonCDEJ. I would check whether there is 5V on the pin1, then check if there is a connection to 10K resistor, and then check the GND is connected. Connect the dongle and try if there is any data flowing to LogView (it has a log window, open it to see if any data is flowing during the charge). Try different speeds (the speed can be changed in the ini file and on com port driver in Windows and in the charger itself). And of course you need to enable UART logging in the charging setting menu.

Use the search on this forum to get more details. If you can't find the solution the ask here.

logview is really a ;pain in the ass.
I did everything to get logging enabled but so far nothing on screen.
it is getting datas in but no graphics on screen.
baudrate set at 57600 on charger, logview, ini file and windows.

did the format of cheali change when going to 1.99

Multimeter might affect charger behavior. That's why log view is better to see if constant voltage misbehave in your case. To get logs you need logview software installed on your computer, a uart cable connected to temp port of your charger, charger configured to send log data over temp port and everything correctly configured. I can t give concrete instructions right now. Try it for yourself and ask specific questions.

Your login data is not looking right have you got a terminal program each line should start with dollar "$"
Thats how I started once I could see the proper data folow alex alex instatructions and it should work.
