Austin Cooperative Business Association is committed to providing educational opportunities for our Member co-ops. This January 23rd, CDS Consulting Co-op, one of the most experienced groups for cooperative board consultancy and training in the country, will bring their well respected CBL 101 (Cooperative Board Leadership) Training to Austin. This class provides a strong foundation for directors by covering these topics: Cooperative principles, values and history, legal roles and responsibilities, cooperative governance, financial understanding using the balance sheet. It is appropriate for new and experienced Directors as well as Co-op staff and prospective Board participants. You can find more information about this great training here.

In partnership with CDS, ACBA is offering up to three full scholarships for member Co-ops who would otherwise be unable to send a Board representative. Just fill out the enclosed application nominating one of your Board members by January 8, 2015. The ACBA Board will select and notify scholarship recipients by Monday, January 11^th. ACBA is pleased to be able to serve our Member co-ops by bringing you this and other opportunities for continued training and education!
