Hello all,

The Texas A&M Agricultural Extension is hosting a series of classes called in the La Reunion Commons designed to teach participants about nutrition, cooking (with demonstrations and samples), and food budgeting.  The classes are targeted for low-income parents of small children, but anyone can come!

The classes will last 7 weeks, every Tuesday evening from 6-7:30 starting August 20th.

Attached is a flyer.  Please invite any parents you know!  They can either drop the registration slip in the La Reunion office slot (next to the laundry room) or e-mail in...@lareunioncoop.org to register.

Best,
Hannah

Now also on the wiki!

Edits welcome. I tightened up the flyer verbiage a bit, but someone with a better touch is free to have at it.

For anyone who is curious, if you create a page in the /news/ namespace, it will appear on the front page in order of creation. To create this page, I did the following:

1. Logged into my account.
2. In the address bar of my browser, typed: "lareunioncoop.org/news/healthy-food-healthy-families".
3. Visited the page, received an error that it did not exist.
4. Clicked "create this page".
5. Added content.
6. Clicked "Save".

Voila, new news item on the main page. Super easy.

The same holds true for meetings, sort of, though you have to use my specific naming format: meetings/YYYY-MM-DD. The meetings page operates a bit differently since meetings can be created out of order of their actual happening (I.e. all the old minutes Mike imported, which happened substantially after more recent meetings, but are still ordered nicely thanks to 2013-07-22 being greater than 2012-09-25.).)

Nice to see that sad-looking news section filling up. Keep going! It'll be awesome to show potential funders and neighborhood allies an active coop!
