Thanksgiving Greetings:
The people with whom I feel closest are those I see on the grounds each season at Chautauqua Institution. Several years ago we began a project producing videos of biographic interviews of accomplished Chautauquans. These have been run on the Access Channel
in Chautauqua County in a program titled Chautauqua People and recorded on YouTube for wider consumption. To date there are 76-interviews in the series.
I offer heartfelt thanks to these friends who shared their life stories this summer in the Mayville Access Chautauqua studio and subsequently appeared on
Chautauqua People:
Ted Arnn, Great Grandson of Lewis Miller, Chautauqua Founder
Paul Perry, President, Chautauqua Property Owners Association
This year's interviews were each announced in a short article on Mondays in the
Daily's Briefly Column.
One interview from 2018 received heavy viewing after the current season, that of
Jared Jacobsen, Choir Director and Organist, following his tragic loss. It was very difficult to arrange his interview given the demands of Jared's schedule, yet I am happy to have stayed with it until completion
from the comments received this fall .
The production of such interviews is very much of a team event. Many thanks to those involved in the program during the 2019 season: Chuck Kelsey, Devon Taylor, Chris Burt, Scottia Evans and Nancy Bargar.
I have attached a hyperlink to the name of each interviewee for easy viewing of the video.
Sincere thanks and a Happy Thanksgiving to all,
John Viehe
