Chautauqua Bookstore Opening

Dear Chautauquans,

The Bookstore is looking for someone to fill a short term part time position lasting through most of the fall.  There is the chance that it may turn into a part time year round opportunity. 

The Bookstore is at the heart of the Institution, located in the historic Post Office Building on picturesque Bestor Plaza, and is consistently a hive of activity throughout the Chautauqua season. The Bookstore carries merchandise that is tailored to the needs of Chatauquans whether they visit the Institution for a day or stay for the entire season. We carry a wide array of books about Chautauqua history and community, books authored by Chautauqua speakers and CLSC presenters, books for Special Studies classes, current New York Times Best Sellers and a solid collection of general interest titles. We also are the number one place to shop for Chautauqua-imprinted clothing and gifts. There is also a great assortment of tasteful gifts, educational and fun children's toys, puzzles and games, greeting cards, and sundries. We carry a wide variety of art supplies for adults and kids alike.

Guest Service Associates in the Bookstore will help patrons find and purchase merchandise that is appropriate to their needs and that will make their visit to Chautauqua more memorable. Our associates will be reliable, knowledgeable, courteous, and attentive in their interactions with guests and co-workers. One of the payoffs of working at Chautauqua is the chance to meet a number of interesting people who come to visit from all over the world, and practically every one of them comes to the Bookstore at some point.
