Since about 2008, Mom has enjoyed two accordion doors that provided access to her “solar room” to breathe warm air into the house.

They scrunch down to about a foot wide, which permitted 7 feet of air circulation.

We are changing to sliding glass doors to change to a no-infiltration design.

I am offering these accordion doors here free to those on the CI grounds or immediately nearby.

These accordion doors are well suited for the porch where a wind block is desirable.

They could also be used to manage heat flow within a home or for a porch.

Accordion doors are not air-tight – so, think of a place where airflow of 0.5 inches above (and below) will be fine.

I may be willing to install them for you.

Willingness depends on ease (access, structural integrity, having another 2 pairs of strong arms to lift them into place, et cetera).

I’d rather offer to install than see these accordion doors going to waste.

Call me, Clay, if interested. I am at 512-589-7148

Details

The opening can be as short at 78 inches tall, when the accordion door is open.
The mounting above uses another inch for the roller track.
The height of mounting may be more, but that will, of course, leave a larger gap below the accordion door.
Minimum opening to host the accordion doors is 80 inches.

Each of the two accordion doors stretch to about 98 inches wide, but I do not advise such.
Rather, use them for no more than a 96 inch span.  Preferably, no more than 90 inches span.

From the “inside”, there is a left opening accordion door, and a right opening accordion door.

The left opening accordion door sticks a bit and should not be pulled from the door handle.
Rather, pulling it closed from about 2 or 3 feet above the door handle limits binding of the rollers.

These doors were originally designed for use in a classical 1980s “Mall”, like the Chautauqua Mall.
That is, they are “Security doors” to permit customers to see into the store without letting thieves smash-and-grab.
Highly durable in design. However, as noted above, the design of the rollers are a weakness in the design.
