Dear Chautauqua Community,
We know many of you have been waiting and wondering, and today I’m pleased to confirm that The Chautauquan Daily will return to its usual six-days-per-week print production schedule this summer. (You’ll remember that the 2020 Daily editorial staff worked magic last summer to deliver an online version of the newspaper, covering the offerings of CHQ Assembly — please do check it out!) Editor Sara Toth, Photo Editor Dave Munch and their staff of college-aged student interns and a handful of dedicated Chautauqua community members are gearing up for a robust summer producing the official newspaper of Chautauqua Institution, once again in print. Advertising Sales Manager Jennifer Montani-Hicks is already selling space in all 55 editions. Business Office Manager Megan Brown and Circulation Manager Arden Ryan are preparing to process your subscriptions and delivery instructions. And our publisher at the Corry Journal is ready to fire up the presses.
To limit frustration for all in this compressed timeline for early-season subscription processing, we will implement a staggered sales schedule by length of subscription. You can place your order by phone (716-357-6205) or in person at the Daily Business Office as follows:
SUBSCRIPTIONS (see 2021 rates here)
- Monday, June 14: Begin sales of SEASON-LONG subscriptions only
- Wednesday, June 16: Begin sales of subscriptions of TWO TO EIGHT WEEKS in length
- Friday, June 18: Begin sales of ONE-WEEK subscriptions for Week One (June 26–July 3) and Week Two (July 3–10) only
- Tuesday, June 22: Begin sales of subscriptions of all lengths for all weeks
Secondly, so we can focus first on subscriptions, we will delay classified ad sales as follows:
CLASSIFIED ADS
- Monday, June 21: Begin sales of classified ads for Week One (June 26–July 3) editions only
- Monday, June 28: Begin sales of classified ads for all weeks
Thank you for your patience and flexibility as we manage an anticipated heavy volume of orders in a short period of time. If your subscription will begin later in the summer, we respectfully ask that you consider waiting to make your purchase until toward the end of the month.
Finally, thank you for your expressions of interest in and love for the Daily. It’s heartening to the entire staff to hear from and serve such a dedicated community of readers.
We look forward to once again delivering the print edition to your doorstep, helping you prepare for another Chautauqua day.
