We just planted nine varieties of lettuce this week and we plan to plant more. After a few weeks in light carts, the lettuce will be moved to the greenhouse and then to the garden. If all
goes well, it will be in the first week's CSA share. Our CSA begins May 25. If you're considering it, here are some of the questions I get frequently:
Q. Where do I pick up my share?
A. We offer seven locations: our farm, the Westfield Farmers' and Artisans' Market, Fredonia, Erie, Chautauqua Institution, Jamestown, and the Audubon Community Nature Center. Check our website at
tobogganhillfarm.com for specific locations and times.
Q. Normally, I find the Westfield pickup site on Saturday to be the most convenient, but sometimes it's more convenient to pick up in Erie on Friday. Can I do that?
A. Yes. If you let us know in advance, we can deliver your share at a different location.
Q. If I'm unable to pick up my share, can I have a friend or neighbor pick it up instead?
A. Absolutely! No problem.
I just learned this week that we can take Venmo payments by email. If you wish to do that, let me know and I'll send the code.
We will be at the Fredonia Winter Market this Saturday (March 28) with fresh brown eggs, garlic, and books with stories that take place on the farm.
We're looking for one or two people to work in our garden this summer. If interested, you can email us or call 716-326-2060.
