Dear Members, Supporters, and Friends of CAMP,
Citizens Advocating Memorial Preservation (CAMP) will be participating in Cattaraugus Gives Day (known nationally as Giving Tuesday) on December 2, 2025.
CAMP's Cattaraugus Gives Day page can be found here:
To date, CAMP has:
-Stalled demolition of the Cattaraugus County Memorial and Historical Building in Little Valley, NY
-Purchased the Memorial Building at auction from Cattaraugus County
-Preserved architectural elements from further decay by placing a protective wrap around key elements of the Memorial
-Installed a new roof on the Memorial, which addressed a decades-long water infiltration issue.
-And just this year, the Memorial Building was placed on the New York State and National Registers of Historic Places, which has opened new grant opportunities for preservation and rehabilitation.
CAMP has applied for significant grant funding that will enable us to remove asbestos from the building, which will allow us to again open the Memorial to the public. This also entails the need for us to raise money for matching funds—and that’s where you come in. Your donation to CAMP on Cattaraugus Gives Day will help us raise the necessary matching funds to accomplish this next crucial stage of our work.
Thank you for your continued interest and support of CAMP!
Kyle M. Stetz
CAMP, Vice President
