Our next gathering (at a special date) will be 6:30 on Tuesday Feb. 2, 2016 at Turner School. This is the perfect Chautauqua moment. Last year, Pew Institute religion scholar Tim Townsend spoke at the Hall of Philosophy on his book “Mission at Nuremberg”. It was based on the captivating story of Pastor Henry Gerecke, an American Army chaplain, who was sent to provide spiritual counsel to the Major Nazi leaders in prison during the Nuremberg Trial. His story is one of believing in trying to “save the souls” of the defendants. We have unearthed a speech by Pastor Gerecke (not available to the author) on his experiences and justifying his unique approach. After reviewing the film and in response to the film, we will have a community conversation led by Maureen Rovegno. As I said only at Chautauqua. See you then. Greg
