Hi,Edwin,

I am a movie enthusiast too. My favorite actors are Matt Damon, Keanu
Reeves, Danzel Washington and Will Smith. My favorite actresses are Jessica
Alba, Kate Winslet and yes! Angelina Jolie!

Favorite movies: the Matrix series, Bruce Almighty...just to mention a few.

You mean the slumdog millionaire? The name has stirred up quite some
controversies among Indians. I haven't watched it either? Would love to
check it out.

Do you guys watch movies online, or download them onto computer to watch, or
buy dvds?

Not like you,I hardly remember actors/actresses,I remember the
classical movies themselves.
Followed are some of my faverates;
The Sting;
A Beautifull Mind;
The Shawkshank Redemption;
Man From Earth;

That's it! I've not watched it either,just saw introduction on "21st
Century".
But I have confidence in the Oscarers. They never disappointed me,like
before.

I love 21st Century too. I have subscribed to it for several years. And I
think it has been improving its quality consistently.

I've also subscribed to the English Corner magazine which helps me learn
authentic American slang. So I highly recommend it! Its URL is

BTY, many of its editors are Americans.

Hope you guys will enjoy it too!

i have watched this movie .although it causes a lot of contobersies.i
stil like the style of it.the happy ending makes me feel good.

the movie which can be scooped oscar always causes somepeople's
opposeing.because of the disputed topic,it can always draw many
people' attention.

My coworker is from indian. She is proud of thismovie although this
movie was directed by white people. This movie may not get award if it
was directed by a Indian director, isn't it?
What do you guys think? This movie is not kind of a story telling . We
have to be very patient while we watch it . Then , we need to
reorganize the sequence in order to knew how the boy was growing and
what kind of enviroment he was staying. Moive is art and not a real
story. It may be a collcetion of very single event which may happen on
individual. It is artistic exaggeration.
The little boys and girls who performed in movie were real living in
slum. They had no payment . Of cause, they were rewarded a house after
the moive get Oscar award.

You seem a good film audience!
But what do you mean by "This movie is not kind of a story
telling ."?
As I see,excellent movies are FIRST excellent stroy tellers. What do
we watch movies for? Above all to be entertained. So
a movie without an absorbing story may never be popular around. As
for
the inner topic, small or great, distuped or not, are attachment to
some degree.
We have enough channels to educate or discuss sociecial issues, which
had better not include movies.
I admit, deep and great subject are allways necessary for Movie-
Giants. But never forget mivie's first-of-all geneis------Story
teller!

In "Slumdog Millionnire", both the story and the way it's told are
great. I think you mean it's not only a kind of story telling. Of
course not---what do the Oscar raters do?
