I love when people hide behind "free speech" as though they are somehow of the same caliber as Thomas Jefferson. Pornographers, child and drug traffickers and terrorists use the free speech argument too. Speech isn't free if women are threatened, gossip is spread and people suffer the rants of those who terrorize others but who are not part of the democratic process for which "free speech" was intended.
Many animals in our county suffer many things at the hands of hostile people. Some are neglected, some abused, some are chained to be mean for those who fight them. When I hear how mean some folks are on the chatlist, it is easy for me to imagine how mean they are to animals. How about instead of insulting, arguing and threatening each other, we all build fences for poor people in the county, help get shelter animals adopted and inform law enforcement and animal control about abuse and neglect?
