Of course, spay and neuter is the best thing we can do to solve future problems
of excess animals, but it does nothing to solve the current problem of already
existing animals. None of my cats over the years has ever been allowed to
procreate.

As for the Goathouse charging less for an adoption; $100 is a great deal! The
cost of initial shots and of spaying or neutering at any vet clinic is likely
to be way higher. Also, it's sad, but true, that anyone who has a problem
affording that adoption fee should probably reconsider adopting altogether.
Average lifetime veterinary costs for basic pet care can be prohibitive, and
I'm not talking about extreme measures to care for accidental injuries,
illnesses and major diseases. Owning a cat can be a 20-year commitment, and
shouldn't be taken on lightly.
