Jett is an American action crime drama television series created by Sebastian Gutierrez. It stars Carla Gugino and premiered on June 14, 2019, on Cinemax.[1][2] The drama ended with only 1 season and 9 episodes.
On April 18, 2018, it was announced that Cinemax had given the production a straight-to-series order. The series was created by Sebastian Gutierrez who is also set to executive produce, write, and direct for the series. Other executive producers are set to include Mark Stern, Stuart Ford, and Dana Brunetti. Additionally, it was reported that Stacey Levin will serve as a co-executive producer and Kathy Landsberg as a line producer. Production companies involved with the series are expected to include Global Road Entertainment.[3] On May 17, 2019, it was announced that the series will premiere on June 14, 2019.[2]
Alongside the series order announcement, it was confirmed that Carla Gugino would star in the series as the titular character Jett.[3] On June 19, 2018, it was announced that Giancarlo Esposito, Elena Anaya, Michael Aronov, Gaite Jansen, Christopher Backus, Gil Bellows, and Violet McGraw had been cast as series regulars and that Jodie Turner-Smith, Gentry White, Lucy Walters, and Mustafa Shakir were set for recurring roles.[15] On August 29, 2018, it was reported that Chivonne Michelle had joined the cast in a recurring capacity.[16]

Jett said the goal of this series is to explain complex political systems in a way that resonates with the public. The series is intended to be relevant to people of all ages, from children to adults. The videos are all free to watch on the WFYI website and on YouTube, making them easily accessible to people across the Indianapolis area.
Cinemax should either have original programming, or the parent company should nix Cinemax altogether. AMC started out as American Movie Classics and evolved into what it is today (the very first show they aired was a great BBC series called Hustle with Adrian Lester and Robert Vaughn, followed by the AMC original Mad Men). Let Cinemax take off with more original programming.
The series originally premiered in 2019, but it is just now making its way to a streaming service after briefly being discontinued. HBO dropped the official trailer for the series, renewing the hype for the action-packed show.
For those who haven't seen Jett before, the series follows Daisy "Jett" Kowalski (played by Carla Gugino) after her release from prison. While this former thief tries to settle back into her life, taking care of her daughter and rejoining society, she's quickly pulled back into the very thing that originally landed her in prison.
The first season of Jett initially premiered on Cinemax in 2019, garnering favorable reviews from viewers. Season 1 consisted of only nine episodes, and while the cast and crew had high hopes to bring the series back for a second season, Cinemax announced that it would be discontinuing its original content, ultimately axing Jett along with it.

HBO dropped its official trailer for the show on July 9, which is the same day that the series is available to stream on the platform. Luckily, there is no wait time for fans to stream the inaugural season of this stunning crime drama series.

Jett has the commanding voice of an educator, the confidence to speak in front of large groups, and decades of research and writing experience. Still, she says hosting a web video series is a new challenge she wholly welcomes.
