Kung Fu Panda is a DreamWorks Animation franchise that began in 2008 with the release of the animated film Kung Fu Panda. It has gone onto include three sequels, three television cartoons, several Licensed Games, and theme park rides, amongst other derivatives.
The franchise takes place in a World of Funny Animals and is inspired by the Chinese genre of Wuxia. Po is a fanboyish panda obsessed with China's strongest kung-fu warriors, the Furious Five. To his (and everyone else's) surprise, Po is destined to become the most powerful warrior in all of China, the new Dragon Warrior.
