I'm trying to create a bar chart but at some moment the chart is not
expanding any more.I have 42 county's and the chart is not getting big
enough to accommodate all 42.any idea why?

I think it would be best if you create your bar chart until you hit
the limit and then save the chart to the gallery and post a link to
the chart here. I will have a look at it and give further advice.
