In order to reduce cross-posting and the need to copy and paste
comments from one group to another, I'm planning to stop posting to
this group and add to the Compassionate Politics Workshop group those
of you who aren't already a member. Please let me know if this does
not sit well with you. Hopefully we can continue our conversation
there.

Wow! Politics, eh? That's become such a dirty word, thru all its
negative connotations, that I hesitate to think of myself as a
"political" person! But of course we are ALL political, since we're
involved, to a greater or lesser extent, in power structures and power
plays, either by choice or willy-nilly.

So, yes, I guess although "compassionate politics" seems such an
oxymoron, with sufficient publicity for the combination, we may yet
redeem both the word and the practice.

Wade, sign me up! ;-)

Yahya

Wade,

I just checked out the "Compassionate Politics Workshop" Google
Group. It says one must be signed into a gmail account to post. Now,
I don't have a gmail account, nor do I particularly want one. I have
enough trouble remembering to check both of my active email accounts
and keep them appropriately synched. I also abhor the waste of time
involved in learning a new interface for each new provider. So,
unless that rule can be waived, and I can continue to post online in
Google Groups, I'm sorry but I won't be posting in the "Compassionate
Politics Workshop" Google Group.

Regards,
Yahya

Yahya, I'm glad you're willing to help redeem politics. Lord know we
need lots of help, for improving our public policies seems to be an
urgent need.

As I just posted on the other group, it seems I was wrong about a
Gmail account being necessary. So hopefully we can talk there too.
