I was heading to the bus stop this morning, and had a thought appear in my head.

Why isn't there a Chamber of Compassion to compete with the Chamber of Commerce in the marketplace of ideas?  It could be a membership co-op of all of the non-profit organizations, advocating for policies that advance the compassionate values of our country.

Chad,

What a great connection!

And of course, the "competition" would be compassionate - recognising
the importance of the ideas and values of commerce to its
participants, whilst offering support for them to develop the ideas
and values of sharing and community.

It's amazing how often the big movers in the local Lions and Rotary
clubs (here in Australia) are also the big movers in the commerce
chambers. Just to make it clear, in the spirit of not creating "us-
them" divisions, that compassion and commerce are not incompatible,
and certainly not enemies!

Regards,
Yahya
