NOTE: Following is a message of thanks from the Fetzer Institute to
global tolerance, an organization that helped launch the Charter for
Compassion and created their (relatively inactive) Ning social
network. This communication, which was sent to Charter partners
including the Charter for Compassion Network, reports on some plans
concerning efforts to advance the Charter for Compassion.

part of global tolerance connect
A message to all members of Charter for Compassion
Dear Charter Partners -
I wanted to extend my personal thank you (also on behalf of Karen
Armstrong and the Charter team) to global tolerance for all they have
done to ensure a successful launch of the Charter.
It was a pleasure working with Simon and Lance as we learned the
potential of partnership with individual ambassadors of the Charter
and interested organizations around the world. I particularly
appreciated their patience and strong communication with partners at a
time when the Fetzer Institute was coming up to speed on the project
and identifying the best next steps for this incredible endeavor.
Their attention to the partner survey was particularly helpful and
unique and I thank you all for your participation in that process.
global tolerance is very skilled at assessment and identifying
strategic next steps. I am so happy they will remain a partner for the
need for compassionate organizations is stronger than ever and so I
wish them the best in all their new endeavors and for their New York
presence.
As Simon pointed out in his letter, the Charter for Compassion team is
growing to include a full-time project manager. I expect this person
to be appointed in the next few weeks. At that time, we will be
communicating a host of ways that we will connect with you and how we
can learn about and better empower your work in the world. We are
excited to be in the midst of plans for an expanded Charter for
Compassion website. One that will merge much of the activity on this
private site to a public community for which everyone who visits can
better identify the work you all are doing around the world. In
addition, as we plan for an exciting live-streaming event on November
18 (mark your calendar, more details to come!), we will be in touch on
the unique ways you can share the story of your compassionate work in
the world at this unique event.
In the meantime, I'd like to ask this community to verify a few
things:
1) Please ensure your organization is accurately reflected on the
Charter partner page. If you see the need for any changes, please
communicate to
par...@charterforcompassion.org.
2) Please ensure you are registered on the Charter site to receive the
Charter newsletter. I will post our latest newsletter to this site,
but in order to receive future newsletters, it would be helpful to
have your registered at the Charter site.
Thank you for your ongoing work, for believing in the work of the
Charter for Compassion and what it can inspire. We look forward to
more communication in the weeks ahead.
All my very best,
Gillian Gonda
