local ruby/rails positions?

Hi,

I'm a software developer who is considering relocating to the
Charlotte area. It's hard to tell from the sparseness of this
discussion group, but are there any ruby firms currently hiring?
Though I am comfortable in a number of languages, I'd prefer to work
with ruby on rails or at least in the xp/craftsmanship environment
that seems to surround shops that use it. I'm simultaneously searching
job boards, but the firms I've seen have been recruiters and I'd
prefer direct contact. Any suggestions of firms to contact or other
discussion groups to lurk would be very welcome.

The impression I'm getting from the general market is that it's a
little thin everywhere. In Charlotte, in particular, I know of only
one consultancy that uses Ruby as a standard part of their repertoire,
and I'm not sure if they're currently hiring.

Wish I could be of more help. Perhaps over time we'll get the group
growing strongly enough that there won't be any doubt for those
looking for work.

This is very much what I am seeing as well. I've also been working on
expanding the area of my search, both in location and in job
description. Satisfying technical or high science positions seem thin
on the ground in general outside the RDU area.

Also, can we do something about the spam?
