Greetings Rubyists!
I wasn't able to put together a meeting this month like I'd hoped, but some things have been happening behind the scenes. Part of the reason for the delinquincy on my part is that RubyConf is fast approaching. If you are not registered, shame on you, the conference is now sold out (including the waiting list). It's fantastic that this conference is coming to Charlotte this year. I'm really looking forward to the sessions that are planned, including the keynote by Matz (the creator of Ruby) on Friday evening. The other thing that has kept me occupied suddenly this month has been attending the Ajax Experience conference in Boston (where I am now). This has also been a good conference and I even met some folks who may be able to visit us as speakers in the future.
Anyway, even if you're not able to come to the conference, I'd like to invite you to join me and many other Rubyists from various places at Ri-Ra's on Thursday, Nov. 1st. That is the night before RubyConf, so I hope we'll also get a good showing from the Raleigh group and others. I suggest starting around 6:00 to make it easier for those who want to stop by on their way home from work, but come whenever you can. I look forward to meeting many of you there. There are other fun activities being planned at this Facebook event page.
