Major Duties and Responsibilities:
GIS Analyst must have considerable knowledge and understanding of the theories, principles and practices associated with the design, development and support of GIS applications. Must have a variety of intermediate GIS skills including support and maintenance; management and quality assurance of geospatial data; and provide planning related mapping and analysis. Candidate must have a working knowledge of ArcSDE, geodatabases, feature classes, maps and metadata and perform daily reconciliation of GIS versioned geodatabases; perform spatial analysis and resolve errors in data sets and their attributes. Must be able to support IT related projects and special projects. Experience with SQL Server, Python, Model Builder, Visual Basic or VB.NET are a plus. Candidate must possess the motivation to keep current in GIS technology. Understanding of mission critical application support procedures is a plus. Organizational skills and ability to work independently under general direction are essential for this position.
Minimum Qualifications: Undergraduate degree in geography or related field and at least one year of work experience using the ESRI ArcGIS 9.2 or above suite of desktop and server products is expected.
