Hi everybody,

I wanted to ask the group for recommendations for a good hosting provider.  We need to find a new home for our site and I wanted to get some recommendations from you as to where would be a good, stable, economical place for our group.

Thanks in advanced,

Matt

Matt,

We have some cloud servers with ORCS Web. We could host the site as one of our contributions to the group.

Thanks,

Glenn

If you want a VPS server with root access on EC2 try http://epicwinhosting.com/ (owned by the DotNetKicks guys). DiscountASP donated hosting at the GiveCamp and seem to have pretty good support, https://www.discountasp.net/signup/special/5dollar/. I haven't tried it but GoDaddy claims to have a new 4GH scale-able hosting environment at shared-server pricing, http://www.godaddy.com/hosting/web-hosting.aspx?ci=21391. While they're not affordable, Rackspace Cloud Sites is a pretty amazing platform, http://www.rackspace.com/cloud/cloud_hosting_products/sites/. I've even seen some people re-selling a slice of it so you don't have to get a whole account for the scale-able benefits. Finally OrcsWeb support rocks but isn't necessarily affordable, http://www.orcsweb.com/.
