Got potholes?
Garbage or recycling not picked up?
Leaking fire hydrant?
These are just a few of the many issues you can get resolved by calling 311
You've done your due diligence and you can't get the problem fixed.
Now what?
Make it a point to attend the Community Office Hours for District A
at the Nix Library (1401 S. Carrollton Ave.) on any of the following dates:
January – 21, 22, 27, 28 and 29
Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, 10:30 a.m.-4 p.m
OR,
You could just attend the monthly meetings of the Faubourg St. John Neighborhood Association which are held at 1700 Moss (Deutsches Haus) at 7 pm on the first Tuesday of the month. Tuesday, February 4th is the date of the next meeting.
WHY?
Because you have direct access to District A Councilman Joe Giarrusso, Commander Roberts of the 1st District NOPD, the Mayor's ear by way of Stephen Mosgrove, and the newly elected State Representative Matt Willard who will also have a representative attending the monthly meetings. Got issues with the Fair Grounds? Virgil Duplessis of the Fair Grounds attends the meetings as well.
Don't be the person that just complains about everything but does nothing. Call 311 or fill out a service request online first {
https://nola311.org/) If that doesn't work to your satisfaction, attend your monthly neighborhoood meeting and decide to join your neighbors in the Faubourg St. John Neighborhood Association. Find out more at
https://fsjna.org Worried about joining online? Drop a check made out to the Faubourg St. John Neighborhood Association in the mailbox at 3301 Grand Route Saint John
Still don't believe you can make your problem go away? Check out the "minutes" link at
https://fsjna.org/meeting-minutes/ There you can find out what's happening and who you have access to. Then make it a point to attend the monthly meetings. There has never been an easier way to get things accomplished.
AND, the neighborhood meetings are limited to just ONE hour and are held just once each month so, your time isn't wasted. After the meeting you can interact with anyone you believe can help you.
So, it's up to you.
Are you the person that gets things done or are you "that guy".
The City needs you to work WITH them to get things done and follow up.
