HELP KIDS UNDERSTAND THE VALUE OF HELPING OTHERS
(9 years old and up)

Volunteers work in the warehouse re-pack room to separate donated food into specific categories and repack food into boxes that go out for distribution to member agencies.

Specific assignments and projects will vary slightly based on operational needs. Your job assignment will be explained in further detail upon your arrival.

Please take note of the following requirements:

Food Sorting volunteers must be at least 9 years old.
Youth volunteers between the ages 9 and 12 must be accompanied by an adult.

This shift may take place in Second Harvest's 55 degree cooler. Long pants and layers are recommended!
Closed toe shoes are required!
Any volunteers that are wearing flip flops, sandals, or Crocs will not be permitted to work.
Volunteers should be able to be on their feet for at least 2 hours at a time.
Tasks include lifting, pushing, and pulling boxes of up to 30 pounds.
