I was just recently made aware of
"Life Line Screening"
(Google it),
https://www.lifelinescreening.com
and
after examining their brochures
I decided to do it....
(the Screening tests).
It was done by Professional Technicians,
and
all 5 tests that I took, took less than 1 hour.
B"H everything came out OK.
I did a special package of 5 critical health tests
(Carotid Artery Disease, Atrial Fibrillation,
Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm, Peripheral Arterial Disease, and Osteoporosis)
at a reduced package price
for $145.
after
1st checking with my Primary Care Dr.
if it was a good idea,
and he said .."Absolutely".
He had never heard of the Organization that does these tests,
and
neither did almost anyone else I mentioned it to...
And
they've been doing it since 1993,
and they do it coast to coast (20,000 annual events they say).
My Dr. said that everyone over 50 (or 60 for sure) or
anyone (even younger) that is in any High Risk category should do it.
And,
it should be done at least once every 1 or 2 years....
depending.... (and even if all the tests come out perfect).
They test for many things
that would not normally show up as a problem until symptoms occur,
by which time it could already be a serious problem
It's primarily done to look for (quiet) red flags
to alert one to
(and prevent) possible Heart Disease and Stroke.
My new - excellent Primary Care Dr.
goes to our Shul,
and
he was very enthused about it when I told him about it
and showed him the brochures.
I suggested,
and he agreed,
that
we should try to have them come to our Shul
perhaps once or twice a year to do their testing
in our large Social hall
(or a classroom ...or wherever it works)....
similar to the Blood Drives that we do one (or more)times every year.
I also spoke to our Hatzalah (community ambulance) people,
and 1 or 2 other key people in my Synagogue
and they were all similarly very enthusiastic about it.
It could wind up saving a lot of lives !!
Look it up..
Life Line Screening.

You might want to suggest it to your
(or other) Shuls (or other religious institutions)
or the Y,
or other local organizations
that can accommodate it (again..similar to a blood drive).
I'm very excited about doing this.
I've already been in contact with them,
and asked them to send me 20-30 copies
of
2 of their (slightly different) brochures..
both excellent,
colorfully illustrated,
and
with clear explainations of the tests and why it's important to get them.
Each of the 1 page foldout brochures (that I originally got through AMAC)
immediately caught my attention when I saw them...
so
I would like to distribute some of them to our congregants
(and/or post them in our Shuls well).
After I did the tests
I got the (very detailed) results back in about 10 days,
and
there was also included a separate - even more detailed - report
that I was supposed to give my Dr.
Anyway...
since most people don't know about it,
it would probably be a big Mitzvah (good deed)to look into it
and make people aware of it . .
and try to get some drives to have it done locally.
I'm sending this information out to my entire email list as well.

P.S.
Please circulate this to everyone on your email list
(and/or on various other social or other media as well),
and ask them to do the same.
Who knows how many lives might be saved as a result.
Thank you.
