New Mondays NEMPAC Music Classes at CNS starting January 11th
Drum and Sing Course
Ages 1 - 3.5 years and their care-givers
Mondays 3:00 p.m. - 3:45 p.m.
*siblings under age of 1 may also attend for free
Cost: $195 / 10 weeks
Description: Get ready for a hands-on musical experience designed to introduce children to rhythm, instruments, and singing! With a strong focus on live music, participants will have the opportunity to play on their own personal drum, and also experiment with egg shakers, bells, rhythm sticks, triangles and more. The children learn beginner note reading and participate in a wide array of interactive songs, dances, and games designed to improve their listening and motor skills and show them how to keep a beat. The teacher uses live piano to lead sing-alongs, and children will learn a variety of musical styles from around the world. This class will prepare students for a private or group music instruction.

*This is a drop-off program. Parents may sit in the class if they'd like.
Cost: $250 / 10 weeks
Description: In this hands-on instrumental class, where students will be introduced to each instrument family by a specialist musician, including Strings, Guitar, Keyboard, Brass, and Woodwinds. The program, modeled after our successful week-long summer program offering, will provide an exciting learning environment for each student to find their favorite instrument through exploration, experimentation and exposure. Students will learn basic music theory, note reading, and develop rhythm through call and response practices.

- Class 1 and 2: Brass Family
- Class 3 and 4: Strings Family
- Class 5 and 6: Guitar Family
- Class 7 and 8 : Woodwinds Family
- Class 9 and 10: Keyboard / Voice Families
- Percussion: Will be featured in each week with rhythmic exercises
