A work buddy and I have started doing Insanity and P90X  at lunch during the weeks (usually 2-3 workouts per week alternating Insanity and P90X). I've posted the insanity videos to google drive under a new email address. If anyone is interested, feel free to access them. Insanity in particular is an incredible program for pre-season training. It'll make you quicker, more flexible and much more fit than you're used to starting the season.

Just log in to the email, access the drive and you can watch the videos anywhere that you have wifi. Enjoy!

My roommate and I are doing insanity as well. I think it would be cool if we all posted results from the fit test to see how we are progressing/comparing to one another. Here are my first two weeks results:
Switch Kicks: 96 -----> 110
Power Jacks: 39 ------> 48
Power Knee: 85 ------> 90
Power Jump: 40 -----> 60
Globe Jumps: 8 -----> 10
Suicide up/downs: 13 -----> 16
Push-up Jacks 13 -----> 26
Abs: 60 -----> 55

In just two weeks i've seen significant gains in all areas except abs. However; my abs were sore from the previous day since it was the first day we did cardio abs. I'm very impressed with the results and i look forward to seeing the numbers progress further as we travel further into the pre-season. If you happen to be doing insanity as well, post your results from the fit test below so i can see how i'm matching up! Thanks!

Willy (and anyone else concerned),

The only way to see vast improvements in the area of "abs" is to change the way you're eating. Abs are made in the kitchen. Insanity does come with a meal plan (I'm not sure if EO has that uploaded to the site) and there are many "get ab" food plans out there. Don't go the "no carb" route, as that leaves you with very little energy and super hungry all the time. I would recommend the "slow carb" diet, which melts fat off. You can find a link to the principles here.

This also means that if you want to see those results (and quickly), you must be 100% on the program. Not half the time, not 98% of the time. Not "I was really good except for that one thing of candy I ate, but it was just one thing so it's ok." It means 100%. If you do it, then you'll see results and fast. And in conjunction with Insanity, I'd say you would see improvements in 4 weeks, with awesome results in 8. But again, it will only be dictated by your dedication both to the workouts as well as the diet.

Hope this helps,

ngm

Good info ngm!  Question - did you follow this diet while training pre-season/in-season last year?  If so, how was your energy level?

I smash the hell outta some carbs right now (for energy! and cause theyre gooooood), but I'd be down to switch out brown rice/quinoa for lentils/kidney beans if I could still get through a nice workout.

I miss the tank weather down there :(

Yeah, definitely followed this pre-season but added some protein shakes (low in sugar) in there post-workouts as well. You definitely need carbs, but they should be complex carbs (whole wheat breads) and not sugar or white carbs. In season I moved to a 6-meals-a-day thing, but pretty much follows these rules.

I have the nutrition guide at home when I get to my computer after hobos practice I wi send it out. There is also a really good book with tons of good recipes a called The Abs Diet. I got it at Barnes and noble for pretty cheep. And the good is delicious and that's coming from a picky eater.

Oy vey. Did Ab Ripper X (from P90X) at lunch yesterday, then went to yoga in the afternoon. Of course the yoga class was focused on back-bends and opening up your hips. My abs and hip flexors are done. WW should be fun tonight!

EO

PS: If you want a 20 minute ab workout that will absolutely annihilate you for a day, I'm going to start uploading the P90X videos to the CWC google drive.

Anyone who lives in an upstairs apartment....was doing Insanity: Asylum (lots more jumping) in my family room just now and my downstairs neighbors had pieces of their ceiling fall in on them. I'm looking for an indoor space (10'x10' ish) to do my workout. Willing to trade beer/food/pretty much anything over having to buy a gym membership. Can be every day or a couple times a week, as much as you are willing to share with me is more than enough. If anyone can help or know of a place please let me know.

Thanks,

I signed into the e-mail, then clicked on Drive to try to share the videos with my personal account but it kept giving me a second sign in prompt and would only let me select my personal. Can you send them to me somehow?
