National Colonial farms will give us persimmon, mulberries and pawpaw tree starters.  They have already given me heirloom black eye peas, and we can get corn and squash from them without any problems.  I am sure we can get blackberries starters also because they grow wild all over the site.

When is the best time for us to collect those plants for our garden?

Hey guys - So I started collecting web resources for Native Plants and planting Community Gardnes. I have a hardcopy list that I will post soon. :-) Can't wait to see all the gardens in the spring! Click on http://groups.google.com/group/chalres-county-community-gardens/web/weblinks-to-native-plants - or copy & paste it into your browser's address bar if that doesn't work. -- --- Gardens, scholars say, are the first sign of commitment to a community. When people plant corn they are saying, let's stay here. And by their connection to the land, they are connected to one another. - Anne Raver You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Chalres County Community Gardens" group. That would be fantastic.  Can we set up a meeting with them to find out the availability, and when they suggest we start planting? Or if they donate only to specific farms? Thank you!
