Important Information for Band Families

Dear Centennial Band family—

 

I write to share with you some sad news regarding one of our Centennial Band families.

 

As you may have heard from your student, Lisa Kocheril, the Band Booster co-president, suffered a family tragedy over the winter holiday.  Lisa’s parents, Canadian citizens who reside in Ontario but spend winters in Florida, were involved in a serious car accident in Florida on December 28.  Lisa’s mother died in the accident, and her father was severely injured.  Needless to say, Lisa’s time for the last two weeks has been consumed with handling the multitude of arrangements for these events.  Immediately after the accident, she traveled to Florida to handle preparations for the memorial service for her mother and to monitor her father’s medical care and transfer to Canada.  She was back in Champaign for a few days, and then she, her husband, and their children traveled to Canada to assist with her father’s transfer there and to prepare and attend her mother’s funeral. 

 

Lisa asked me to send this message primarily to let you know that, if you have been corresponding with her directly about various band matters, she simply hasn’t been able to respond to those requests.  Therefore, for the immediate future, if there is anything I can do to help you, please feel free to contact me.  My email address is ar...@illinois.edu.  Also, if you have questions about the Disney trip, you can contact Ja’Net Miller; her email address is toby...@hotmail.com.  Thank you for your patience and understanding.
