Dear Band Family:
The administration let me know that all students who have been absent from school yesterday and/or today are still welcome to come to the game tonight. This applies to all sports/band/activities.

Tomorrow's plan remains the same. We plan to see everyone here tomorrow at 12:15 for the Eastern Illinois University competition. Details are below. We still have some openings for volunteers. Please go to the following link to volunteer if you are interested. https://www.signupgenius.com/go/20F0C4CA4A92BAAF49-centennial

Friday Call Time is 5:15
. We will wear our full uniforms. Arrive in Black marching shoes, long black socks, shorts that can comfortably be worn under the uniform pants, and a light blue shirt. You will wear your marching band shirt on Saturday, so if you don't want to wash it after the game, wear a light blue centennial shirt to the game so your marching band shirt won't smell quite as special on Saturday. :-)

We will dismiss after halftime to make sure all uniforms are hung up properly.

Saturday Call Time is 12:15. Arrive in your long black socks, black marching shoes, light shorts, and Marching Band T Shirts.
We will need more snacks, water, sunscreen, and hand sanitizer. I took all of the hand sanitizer I could find for the band kids. We had plenty on every bus and will continue to have plenty. I just want to have a surplus in case the school runs low and tells me to stop taking all of the bottles for the band. :-)

We will rehearse then load the buses as we did last Saturday.

The students worked hard and took quick air conditioned breaks in the building. They were very impressive with their efficiency. The students also did a great job of respecting the chaperones and boosters who helped with uniforms, water, snacks, equipment, and general logistics. I should have praised them for their respectful, focussed behavior in the Grand Champion emails I sent out. So please let your student know that their behavior towards the volunteers was an excellent representation of their character.

All are welcome to attend the competition in the EIU Panthers Football Stadium. The Marching Chargers will perform next to last at 7:30PM. EIU's Panther Marching Band will perform for the students at 8PM and the awards ceremony will be held at 8:30. We plan to be home at 10:00PM.

All students and parents will wear masks on the buses. No couples will be allowed to sit together. All students must stay in their assigned seats both ways. Any students who want to ride home with their parents must check out with their parents and a director so we see the student with their guardian to know they are safe.

There will be several opportunities for the kids to buy concessions and souvenirs. Most of our strange band shirts with memorable sayings like, "I see Band people" and "My band director can beat up your band director," are found at the EIU concessions each year. Shirts, pins, flags, posters etc are generally priced like fair prices or Six Flags prices.

A Sign Up link will be sent out this Wednesday for volunteer chaperones and other jobs. We have drivers for this Saturday already. THANK YOU for stepping up to help last week. We all have a lot to be proud of! Your dedication to your students really showed in the amount of people we had help.
