If you didn't know the Fallout 3 GOTY comes with 2 discs. Disc 1 has all the gameplay of the original Fallout 3. Disc 2 contains the DLC. According to the instruction manual, it wants you to install disc 2, and then play disc one. I didn't read it until I accepted the mission for GNR.

yes, as soon as i started my fallout campaign, I got 5 pop-ups for the new missions, including one informing me about my cap being raised to level 30. I have a 120G hard drive, so I don't need the save space...I might end up selling it.

I would hold on to it. You never know if you will indeed need it. It's not hurting you to hold on to it, it's probably not taking up any significant space in your Fallout 3 GOTY case. I just don't see the reason to get rid of it.

I know that game stores in the UK wont let you trade in used copies of the disc expansions (like the Broken Steel/Point Lookout disc for example) so I doubt you could trade that in, but you could always sell it to a friend I suppose.

I'd keep it. If you ever get a new console, you will need to re-install it, because you can't play a game from the HD on another console, other than the one it was installed on. So you will have to delete it then re-install it onto your HD again, while the HD is in your new console, if you get me?

Keep it. If you intend on selling it or trading it in after you complete it, your gonna have problems. Nobody will want to buy the GOTY edition if it doesn't come with both disc. If you want to trade it in, they will probably require you to have both disc. When I traded in ODST, they required the Halo 3 Mythic disc to take it. Better safe than sorry.

I don't know how or what i did.every other game works well, except fallout 3.I put it in, close the tray.i hear the xbox working, but then it stops. It says "open tray" but that's everything.i tried putting the xbox on and off, putting another disc in, then put fallout in again. It doesnt work. What can i do ...? Have you actually looked at the Fallout 3 disc? It's probably been rendered unreadable by the system. If you have a perfect ring going around the bottom of the disk, you're screwed and will need a new disc. You may also want to try playing the disc on another 360 to see if it's a hardware problem, although I doubt it if it can read other discs. --Esscex 21:24, 6 May 2009 (UTC)

The disk isn't the problem, it's the x-box that's having trouble. Cleaning the disk won't do anything. The problem is the disk reading part of the X-box I had the EXACT same problem two months ago, so I sent in my X-box for repairs and it came back good as new. -Xandus the Legend But EVERY other game works fine, except Fallout. Unless that sort of shit is covered by the warranty, maybe you should buy a whole new disc; or use a disc cleaner or something. That seems rather implausible for the xbox to not be able to read a single disc that isn't damaged; Unless it's formatting is completely bizarre and you got that disc from China Town, Or you laid that sucker out in the sun for a good few hours. But don't waste money and time giving it back to Microsoft or Play-N-Trade. They're bust. Xdarkdragonx 04:13, 8 May 2009 (UTC) Dragon

Okay here's what you need to do. You said that the xbox plays other games fine, so it shouldn't be a hardware problem, seriously think that through. Before you say goodbye to your xbox for 1-2 months go and RENT another copy of Fallout 3, then try it. If that disc works, it's your current fallout disc that is messed up, so either buy a new one or hell, just swap the two if the Rental store doesn't put some big ass sticker on their discs. Okay well, that last one was kind of a joke but still...Have you even tried any of this stuff out? Give us feedback so we know how to help. --Esscex 04:44, 8 May 2009 (UTC)I'll Rent a game tomorrow. Gta Star 15:49, 8 May 2009 (UTC)--It Works Now ^^This morning , i rented another Fallout Game. That one worked fine.after that, i went to GameMania (something like GameStop) and i told the problem.like 3 hours later, they called to say that there were a few hard to see scars. They repair those things, and now it works fine .

another possibility is that the hard drive is somehow interfering with the game being able to play, i removed mine and the game played with no problems. im looking for a way to make them compatable [George Fontenot]

I have an xbox 360 which I did not buy with a hard drive. I played Skyrim, and then when I wanted the DLCs, I had bought a 32GB USB to use. My problem is that I just bought Fallout 3 Game of the Year Edition and whenever I put the second disc in and try to install the extra gameplay, my xbox 360 reads "You must have a hard drive to install this expansion pack. Attach an Xbox 360 Hard Drive and try again."

Sadly, since Fallout GOTY is a older game (and it was not programed for the Slim) you can never play those DLC's. You can try to edit the Xbox so it says you have a hard drive, but I DON'T recommend it because it is hard and voids your warranty. I found a webpage that explains some things.

I think if you take a USB to a friend who has a hard drive, get them to install the DLC, then move the DLC from there hard drive to the USB, then take it back home and put it in your xbox. When you load up the game select the USB that has the DLC on it and when you select it the game should say loading extra content or something like that. You might want to put a save on the USB as well so you don't have to start all over again. I HOPE this works!

Bethesda has confirmed the Fallout 4 version being made available for PS5 and Xbox Series XS will support up to 60fps and increased resolutions across Performance Mode and Quality Mode. It'll also have stability improvements and extra fixes. Prior to release, it's impossible to confirm what those resolutions are, but the hope is Fallout 4 will run at 60fps in as close to 4K as possible.

How you upgrade Fallout 4 from a PS4 version to PS5 depends on how you own the game. If you have a digital copy bought from the PS Store, you'll be able to simply head back into the digital marketplace and search for Fallout 4. Once the PS5 version is released and surfaced, button through to where you're offered the Download option. Replacing where the price normally is, you shouldn't encounter any issues upgrading.

If you own a physical copy of Fallout 4 on a disc, you need to first insert the PS4 disc into your PS5 console. Then, go to the Game Hub on the system's main menu screen and click on the three horizontal dots. Click the View Product option and then you should be taken to a new screen where you're offered the Free PS5 Upgrade. This will download Fallout 4 for PS5, but you'll need to keep the PS4 disc inside your PS5 console whenever you want to play the PS5 version because it acts as an activation key.

When does the Fallout 4 Next Gen Update come out? When can you play the new version of Fallout 4 on PS5 and Xbox Series XS? With excitement surrounding the Fallout IP at record fever pitch following its well-received TV adaptation on Amazon Prime, publisher Bethesda is bringing back Fallout 4 with a next-gen update. In this Fallout 4 guide, we're going to reveal the Next Gen Update Release Times and answer the question: when can you play the new version?

Liam grew up with a PlayStation controller in his hands and a love for Metal Gear Solid. Nowadays, he's found playing the latest and greatest PS5 games as well as supporting Derby County. That last detail is his downfall.

@Splat yeah this is the big one for me, my save files are very far into the game with lots of settlement building, so if they don't carry over I won't be playing the PS5 version and will just have to hope they fix the PS4 version.

The fact upgrading requires instructions is just such an archaic design. I am sure Save file transfer won't be automatic, either. Having a bunch of Trophy dings pop-off when you start the upgrade is also annoying because you have to have a new, but identical Trophy list for the same game simply because it's the new console's version.

I've always meant to go back to Fallout 4 as I never finished it - didn't like the base building aspects or constantly having to go back and protect settlements. Whereas I loved the freedom of 3 and New Vegas. However I've since learned you can pretty much ignore most of that so this may be perfect for me... If only I didn't have a never ending backlog!
