Iam in the process of making a program that can allow me to monitor the size of my game libraries on my PC, relocated games between different drives, and archive them off on my local network. Steam has the most straightforward system with the app_manifest files. The Epic Game Store system holds all its current installed game info in a single file. I haven't been able to figure out how Ubisoft Connect does it.
I can't find anywhere that it stores an obvious game ID to install path record. There are several files I have found that are short enough overall to coincide with my installed games count, but they are encoded in a non-obvious format, or encrypted.
I installed Lutris. I was installed Ubisoft Connect with Lutris in Debian. But I could not install in Garuda and Manjaro. How can I fix this?
I am tapping install Ubisoft Connect in Lutris. I see just blank black pop-up window.
does it work the other way around? :/ Where I already have the uplay version installed, and I do have another uplay account which has the Steam version. And I dont want to re download the whole game on Steam :/
20. Back on the Steam page for the Ubisoft Connect Installer you will now want to reopen the properties page. You must open this page as we need to change the target from the installer to the actual Ubisoft Connect client.
While you can still easily install the game directly to a MicroSD card, installing the games to an easily accessible location on your Steam Deck requires you to make a directory elsewhere and create a symbolic link into the Proton directory.
Firstly an enormous thank you for the guide .. took me a while to configure everything & now I have the feeling everything goes smooth.
Ubisoft is installed, and no crash on launch.
I installed Riders Republic, game installed correctly.
But when I want to launch the game it crashes within a few minutes (after showing game loading screen). Have I done anything wrong?
I have follow everything on this guide which is very great but i have a problem whenver i try to press play it will go to folder where i need to click the launcher again. The same thing happened on game mode.
Sadly while Easy Anti Cheat itself will work with Proton, developers have to manually add support for it. May I ask what game you are attempting to run so I can look up if there is any specific workarounds?
A guide that I've seen quite a few comments ask for across YouTube and our social media pages, so here's how to get the Ubisoft Connect launcher working on Steam Deck. You might want to do this if you own games on Ubisoft but not directly on Steam.
For this, I'm using my tried and tested method that I used for the Epic Games Store originally, by adding the installer as a Non-Steam Game. You could also use Bottles, but I'll talk more about that later. First up, here's the video:
A special important note: ensure you've set Ubisoft Connect to minimize when closed in the settings. In Gaming Mode on the Steam Deck, you need to quickly close Ubisoft Connect once you hit Play on a game, otherwise Gamescope (the SteamOS compositor) gets confused on what to display and madly flashes between the launcher and the game. A problem shared by many launchers right now. UPDATE: thanks to a comment, you can get Ubisoft Connect to auto-launch a specific game by adding uplay://launch/*gameID*/0 to the end of your Steam launch options for the app (ID list here) which gets around the flashing issue but only works for a specific game at a time.
The question is: why didn't I use Bottles like I showed for the EA App on Steam Deck guide? Well, I thought Ubisoft Connect was broken with Bottles but it's actually not so feel free to use that way instead. For some reason, Ubisoft Connect just takes a very long time to properly load in my account details (it's fine for others) but this is still a valid guide if you don't wish to use Bottles and prefer just directly using Steam and Proton together.
If you try running Anno 2070 without Uplay installed in the bottle, then Anno 2070 will try and install Uplay. The version of Uplay that it tries to install is so old that it cannot update itself to a working version.
Just use the CrossOver Configure // Install Software... menu item to install Uplay and make sure that in the Select Bottle tab that you select your Anno 2070 bottle. This version of Uplay will update itself to a working version.
If you do let Anno 2070 try and install Uplay, then you will need to uninstall the broken version of Uplay. Use the Run Command... item on the CrossOver Bottle menu and then browse for the uninstall.exe command in your bottle. It will be in a folder called Program Files\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher.
If the storage space of your drive is running out, or you just bought a new SSD to improve the game performance, you'll need a way to transfer the games. Unfortunately, like many other platforms, Ubisoft Connect also doesn't provide a dedicated button or feature to support you in transferring games to another location.
Suppose you don't want to manually move Uplay games one by one or even reinstall all the games. In that case, the fastest and easiest way to transfer Ubisoft games to another HDD/SSD is to use a professional tool like EaseUS Todo PCTrans Professional.
Where do you want to place the games from their original location? Use the correct way to connect the drive to your computer, where EaseUS Todo PCTrans is installed. Run the games transfer software, choose "App Migration" and then click "Start".
On the left bar, choose the original drive where your game programs are installed, locate the games and tick the checkboxes. Click the triangle icon to choose the target drive as the file path. After all the selection, click "Transfer".
Isn't this the most effective way to move programs between hard drives? With its multiple features and easy-to-follow steps, you can move Uplay games to another drive without concern. Download now to enjoy the convenience and skip the complex!
Another way to do this is to move Uplay games to another drive manually. You don't need to download extra software, but the process is a little bit complex and time-consuming. We will show you how to do it with detailed steps here.
Step 6. Click on "Locate installed game" and select the new game folder. Then, click "OK" to verify the game files. (The time required for this process depends on the game file size.)
However, if the file size of the game is too large or you want to move multiple games, manually moving them would be slow and take dozens of minutes or even hours. It could also lead to data loss if you operate improperly. Thus, the best choice is to use EaseUS Todo PCTrans, which is easier, faster, and safer.
To move the Ubisoft Connect and all the games to another drive on your new computer, one of the options is to reinstall them to ensure they can work fine. But you should back up the Ubisoft game save folder on your old PC to a USB drive first. If you find it complex and time-consuming, you can refer to the following article to do it in an easier way.
How to move Uplay games, especially games like Rainbow Six Siege or Ghost Recon Breakpoint, to another drive is always a popular topic discussed among gamers. Moving your games from an HDD to an SSD can decrease the loading time and enhance the performance. Fortunately, this comprehensive article presents 2 available ways to guide you. Among these methods, EaseUS Todo PCTrans is the easiest and most effective tool to move games to another drive or PC. With a clear interface and powerful functions, it will save you a great deal of time and energy.
Your Ubisoft games and in-game content are all linked to the platform where you activated them. You can transfer the ownership between different Ubisoft accounts in some cases. Additionally, you can only transfer PC games that have been purchased on your physical discs or Steam, Ubisoft Connect PC, and Epic. However, you can't transfer the in-game content like progress, achievements, rewards, and challenges.
