Subject: Re: [Chapoteau Partners] cancel Oct 3rd
If anyone is interested, Carmel Chery, the seminarian from Port-au-Prince, Haiti whom some of us have met and adore, will be preaching at St. John's this Sunday, the 3rd. She is visiting here for a month and would like to visit all of our churches. If you have a special occasion or something she would enjoy, get in touch through Sidney Waite at 799-1910 (or with me). Her spirits are good, her faith strong, but I don't know how. She has had typhoid since the earthquake. Her family are all living in a tent village and are all sick. She looks tired.
As for the 10th, I can make it. I am reluctant to offer lunch, but will if no one else can.

Greetings All!
Two of you told me that you could make it on the 3rd (thank you for
your reply!), but things were already scheduled which I did not know
about--- and I am now unable to make the Oct 3rd meeting.
We could try to reschedule for Oct 10th-- but I think someone else
needs to take the lead on this. If you would like to host and assign
food, please set a date and time and location, and we will show up and
thank you!
It may be that you have gotten information from Paul's slide show http://ptpalmer.com/lightroom/2010_06_haiti/overview/
and directly from Gillaine Warne, and that a meeting is unnecessary.
We just need to make sure to use this list serve to keep everyone
informed about our Haiti work. I do think it's good to talk about how
we raise funds, and what our parishioners know-- especially about
Chapoteau, and to feel that we as a group are making a difference in
Haiti, so that we can support each other!
Ned Badgett has revitalized the St John's group and is doing good and
creative things to keep our Chapoteau school and the Bread and Water
campaign in the hearts of the parishioners-- for one thing, we now
pray for Haiti by name every Sunday in the prayers of the people.
And the St Francis Haiti Sunday was a really nice event-- especially
with lunch at Diana's afterward.
I know that SSSJ will be hosting its Pumpkin Patch (right?)-- what are
the dates? Proceeds go to Chapoteau.
And Galen has send out thank you notes to all the people who
contributed to the St Martin's Mother's Day to Father's Day campaign.
Please let us all know how we should proceed == thank you all!
